The increased demand for sustainable food has driven the use of living cells to protect and sustainably enhance our food supply from farm to form.
Precision fermentation uses cells to make customized, bio-based crop enhancement and protection products, food proteins, enzymes, and specialty chemicals. However, less than 0.01% of biotechnology innovations survive the route to commercialization, often due to the inability to de-risk and scale up precision fermentation.
