    Sable Fermentation is seeking to hire a Laboratory Manager with start date late Q2/early Q3.
    The Sable Laboratory Manager organizes, manages, and optimizes laboratory materials and
    equipment to facilitate a cost-efficient, highly effective, and streamlined work environment for
    Sable Fermentation. The Fermentation Laboratory Manager is expected to operate both upstream
    and downstream equipment to fulfill scale-up and de-risking projects.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage and maintain materials and supply inventory including checking consumables,

    • ordering, and coordinating relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.

    • Operate fermenters and/or downstream equipment as needed to fulfill customer project requirements.

    • Collaborate to develop and implement processes that drive workflow efficiencies.

    • Schedule and organize laboratory daily work including scheduling of customer runs to

    • ensure that the lab operates efficiently, and customer expectations are met/exceeded.

    • Develop and manage programs for inventory and quality control.

    • Coordinate and engage Fermentation Scientists and Project Managers as needed.

    • Identify multiple sources of lab critical materials to ensure continuity of project work.

    • Establish and maintain relationships with equipment repair/calibration companies.

    • Schedule regular maintenance, repairs, and calibration for equipment.

    • Cross-train with Fermentation Scientist(s) to provide troubleshooting support when needed.

    • Establish training protocols for onboarding new team members.

    • Monitor and minimize waste streams while ensuring compliance with strict environmental standards and recycling objectives.

    • Oversee maintenance and service records.

    Required Qualifications:

    • 5+ years of relevant industry experience

    • Associate or Bachelor degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, or related discipline

    • Exceptional multi-tasking, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills

    • Ability to troubleshoot issues with laboratory equipment

    • Willingness to provide hands-on assistance with lab support tasks

    • Experience in laboratory control, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive action management

    • Experience in environmental, health, and lab safety practices

    • Proficient in MS Office, database management software

    • Able to lift 25 pounds
